Josh will start walking at dawn at the Big River Crossing bridge (the old bridge), with a final stop at the Peabody.  At 6 PM the public is invited to Tom Lee Park, near Beale Street Landing, to Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day with a candlelight vigil, live music  by Michaela Compton, local songwriter Leah Rose and access to food trucks. Guest speaker   is Commissioner Heidi Schaefer, a long time advocate for individuals with Down syndrome.

How can you get involved?

Josh's goal is to raise $ 21,000 for the DSAM Capital Campaign ($1,000 for every stop he make).

WHAT IS WDSD?  World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. WHY MARCH 21? The date for WDSD, being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. 100% of the donations go to support the Down Syndrome Association of Memphis & the Mid-South (DSAM). Your donations will directly support our housing capital campaign as well as help us expand our free programs to individuals with DS and their families.
